Requirements

• Working experience on Big Query for Cost and Slot Consumption
• Understanding of how Reservations and Quota works besides partition
• Ability to tune BigQuery SQLs to address shuffle issue leading to slot overuse

Nice To Haves

• Experience with FinOps tools such as Apptio Cloudability
• Experience with cloud cost management dashboards
• Experience with Grafana dashboards and report solutions
• Understanding of GCP APIs such Cloud Asset Inventory BigQuery informationschema
• Experience with cost governance policies and tagging strategies

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize Google Cloud Platform GCP costs and resource utilization by leveraging FinOps tools such as Apptio Cloudability and cloud cost management dashboards
• Configure and maintain Grafana dashboards and report solutions to visualize GCP cloud data including usage metrics cost trends performance indicators and operational insights and understand plugins Understand GCP APIs such Cloud Asset Inventory BigQuery informationschema
• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to implement cost governance policies tagging strategies and resource optimization practices aligned with FinOps best practices
• Develop automated reporting and monitoring solutions to provide visibility into cloud spend budget utilization and anomaly detection for proactive cost management
• Support defining strategy for cost effective and efficient Biq Query Data consumption.
