About The Position

Adams MultiMedia is looking for a full-time reporter to cover a variety of topics for their weekly newspaper, including serious news, light features, and personal profiles. The ideal candidate has some experience, enjoys working with people, and possesses good interpersonal skills. This is a full-time, in-house position with occasional evening or weekend assignments. The role involves meeting and interviewing people and offers the opportunity to see things most people don't get to see.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to multitask.
• Must have own transportation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Ability to accept instruction and editing suggestions from editors.
• Ability to work cooperatively with the public.
• Perform job duties and conduct self in accordance with company core values.

Nice To Haves

• Some experience in reporting/editing preferred.
• Ability to use Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cover serious news, light features, and personal profiles for a weekly newspaper.
• Write and provide clean copy.
• Take photos and video.
• Write headlines.
• Work with different personality types and across a number of publications.
• Initiate and nurture effective, professional relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Work the occasional evening or weekend.
