About The Position

We’re looking for a reporter to dig into the biggest tax stories affecting multinational companies. Tax is central to the strategy of every major company across the globe—from big tech to manufacturing. You’ll write daily stories to longer-term enterprise diving into legal and regulatory changes, build sources across industry and regulatory spaces, and collaborate with reporters and editors in Washington and London. The right candidate has experience covering business or economic issues, a track record of developing sources and breaking news, and a desire to be at the center of the major decisions and challenges facing multinationals.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of journalism principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to use Bloomberg Industry Group publishing tools and other technology effectively with Bloomberg Industry Group training.
• Excellent proofreading skills.
• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in English or journalism preferred.
• 5 - 7 years’ experience in journalism, including at least one year reporting on subject areas covered by assigned publications.

Responsibilities

• Report and write news stories and features with minimal editing under deadline.
• Develop and cover a beat, including developing sources, developing story ideas, and conducting interviews.
• Attend outside meetings, hearings, news events, etc., and report on them clearly and accurately for deadline.
