About The Position

Peak Technologies is seeking a Repair Technician with a technical background in electro-mechanical devices. The role involves failure diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair/replacement of faulty components in electronic equipment such as Barcode Readers, Mobile Computers, POS Machines, Fusers, and Printers. The technician will also be responsible for software and firmware updates, maintaining cost-effective levels, minimizing repeat repairs, and recording repair entries. A clean and organized work area is essential. The position requires the ability to operate within policy guidelines with independent judgment, read and interpret technical documents, apply common sense understanding, escalate issues, and prioritize multiple tasks. Basic computer skills and the ability to work effectively during high demand are necessary. The role also requires the use and understanding of test/lab equipment and the assembly/disassembly of electronic equipment.

Requirements

  • Technical background in electro-mechanical devices such as printers, kiosk/ATM devices, or equivalent experience.
  • Associate degree and/or 2-4 years of equivalent work experience in field service or similar industry
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Self-starter and motivated to perform effectively during times of high demand.
  • Use and understanding of test/lab equipment such as Voltmeters, Power Supplies, Bench Tools, Soldering Equipment, etc
  • Primary language used in daily operations is English.
  • Read and interpret documents, procedure manuals and various correspondence from both internal and external.
  • Speak effectively, both individually and before groups of both external customers and/or various levels of employees within the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in information technology or process improvement training desired.

Responsibilities

  • Failure Diagnostic, Troubleshooting, and Repair/Replacement of Faulty Components in Electronic Equipment.
  • Repair and Maintenance of electronic equipment such as: Barcode Readers, Mobile Computers, POS Machines, Fusers, Printers, etc.
  • Replacement of Certain Faulty Components such as: connectors, cables, fuses, etc.
  • Replacement of Cosmetics deemed to be worn out or unacceptable based on Peak Technologies’ quality guidelines.
  • Software and Firmware update to electronic equipment.
  • Maintain Cost-Effective levels through the use of good practices, judgment and utilization of time, equipment and inventory of new/used parts.
  • Minimize and decrease Repeat-Repairs.
  • Record Entry for repaired devices into Peak Technologies Tech Parts Inventory System.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Escalate issues discovered while performing required tasks.
  • Troubleshooting of electronic equipment
  • Assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment
