About The Position

The Repair Technician is a mid-level position responsible for performing more complex diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tasks on various equipment and devices. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The Repair Technician also plays a key role in mentoring less experienced technicians and ensuring that all repairs meet safety and operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in repair or maintenance is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a repair or technical role, with a proven track record of successful repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of repair tools, equipment, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to mentor and train less experienced technicians.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Dexterity to handle small parts and tools with precision.
  • Exposure to various tools, equipment, and machinery; proper safety precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) are required.
  • Work is primarily performed in a clean-room environment or repair facility setting.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair more complex issues with equipment and devices, using advanced tools and techniques. Ensure that repairs are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Ensure that all repaired equipment meets quality and safety standards before being returned to service. Conduct final inspections and tests as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and services performed. Update maintenance logs and reports as required.
  • Provide clear communication and updates to customers regarding repair status, expected completion times, and any additional services needed. Address any customer concerns or issues promptly.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Repair Technician I employees, sharing knowledge and expertise to help them develop their skills.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of repair parts, tools, and supplies. Order necessary items to ensure that the repair shop is well-stocked.
  • Work closely with other departments and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repair tasks.
  • Follow and enforce all safety protocols and procedures. Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as ability to learn company-based applications.
