About The Position

As a Repair Technician, you will be part of our team located in Columbus, OH. You will inspect, diagnose, and determine appropriate repair methods for power hand tools, addressing damage, wear, or malfunction. You will disassemble, clean, repair or replace parts, and reassemble tools, ensuring proper operation and safety through thorough testing. You will adhere to safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work area, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair status and tool availability. You will proactively contribute to continuous improvement by offering suggestions for systems, processes, and policies, and help identify escalating concerns, patterns, or service issues. You will demonstrate professionalism and urgency while handling stressful situations, and perform miscellaneous tasks—including projects such as 5S, Kaizen, and other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Lead.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient in utilizing computer systems
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits basic math proficiency, including working with fractions and percentages, and possesses strong mechanical aptitude for reading and interpreting diagrams and schematics.
  • Capable of multitasking, prioritizing workload, adapting to changing demands, and maintaining a high tolerance for stress while supporting workflow in the Repair Service Center.
  • Shows strong attention to detail and quality orientation, meets minimum qualifying requirements on the Repair Technician Test, and achieves performance standards within the assigned tool group.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for duration of shift, lift up to 50 pounds and climb and descend a flight of stairs for a minimum of 15 times per 8-hour shift.
