About The Position

The Repair Technician is responsible for tear down and rebuild of a variety of valves and packing cases to meet OEM Standards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The noise level in the work environment is usually high. This position is considered a safety sensitive position. The Job description is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and requirements of the job change.

Requirements

Be able to read dial calipers.
Basic hand tool knowledge.
Basic machining knowledge.
Minimum 3 years mechanical shop/field experience.
Observes safety procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Knowledge of MS Office and operate a Windows based computer.
Pro-active, problem-solving individual who is able to manage a varied workload with constantly changing priorities.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

Responsibilities

Tear down and rebuild of a variety of valves and packing cases to meet OEM Standards.
Tear down and inspect a variety of valves and packing cases.
Recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
Able to stand and operate a sand blaster.
Basic shop maintenance and clean up.
Other duties may be assigned.
