As a Repair Technician, you'll join a skilled team responsible for diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, and testing professional photographic lenses to factory specifications. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years of technical repair experience
  • Ability to use small hand tools and precision measuring equipment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Continuous use of hands and fingers for precision work
  • Excellent close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus on fine details
  • Ability to work in low-light environments when required
  • Frequently lifting and moving items weighing up to 25 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Experience repairing cameras, optics, electronics, medical devices, precision instruments, or similar equipment is preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent hand-eye coordination

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting and troubleshooting photographic lenses submitted for repair
  • Using specialized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and optical issues
  • Reading repair manuals and following detailed repair procedures
  • Carefully disassembling lenses to inspect internal components
  • Replacing defective parts and reassembling products to factory specifications
  • Cleaning, calibrating, and testing repaired lenses using precision equipment
  • Verifying all repairs meet Tamron quality standards before returning products to customers
  • Maintaining an average repair output of 3-5 lenses per day while achieving a redo rate below 3%
  • Supporting the team's goal of a three-day repair turnaround
  • Serving as a technical resource for our Customer Service department
  • Performing additional duties as assigned
