About The Position

The Repair Technician is a part of the Production Team at the Huntsville Factory. Through the use of various testing equipment, this position is responsible for trouble shooting and repair of component electronic assemblies, generation of reports, as well as assisting in identification and resolution of issues within the production process.

Requirements

GED required.
Reading Comprehension: Ability to read, comprehend and execute work instructions.
Interpretation skills related to drawings, schematics, and bill of material (BOM).
Soldering capabilities through whole and surface mount components.
Verbal communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and management.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Physical activity requires standing, walking (or otherwise be mobile), reaching, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking and hearing.
Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Visual requirements are for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Prefer HS diploma and 2 years in electronics related work experience and/or training.
J-Standard or IPC-A-610 certification.
Lead free and fine pitch soldering experience preferred.
Intermediate MS Office skills, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Analyze and troubleshoot production failures to the component level using assembly schematics and various test equipment: Multi meters, oscilloscopes, and custom function test equipment.
Perform rework including solder touchup and component replacement such that the assembly functions properly and meets specified requirements.
Document rework that is performed in the tracking system.
Communicates issues / trends with production, engineering, and quality departments as needed.
All other duties as assigned by management to ensure the success of Futaba.
