About The Position

The FAA Repair Station Technician I is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the inspection, repair, overhaul, and testing of aircraft components in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and approved technical data. This role is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in aerospace manufacturing and repair. Candidates should possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented FAA-regulated environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn aerospace repair and overhaul processes.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, manuals, and work procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced production and repair environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in aviation maintenance, electronics, mechanics, or related field.
  • Previous manufacturing, mechanical, automotive, or aerospace experience.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, and basic test equipment.
  • Interest in pursuing FAA certifications or long-term aerospace career development.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repair, overhaul, and testing of aircraft components and systems under supervision.
  • Follow FAA regulations, Repair Station Manual requirements, approved technical data, and company procedures.
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and avionics-related discrepancies using standard repair methods and tools.
  • Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and inspection records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Utilize hand tools, measuring instruments, and test equipment to support repair and overhaul activities.
  • Support compliance with company quality standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technicians, inspectors, supervisors, and engineering personnel to support production and customer delivery schedules.
  • Participate in required training programs and maintain applicable qualifications and certifications.
  • Identify and report damaged, defective, or unserviceable components to leadership.
