About The Position

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lufkin Gears Repair Proposals Specialist to develop accurate and competitive repair quotations for complex industrial equipment. This role acts as a key coordinator between Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams, ensuring proposals are technically sound, commercially competitive, and aligned with pricing standards. The specialist will manage RFQs, validate repair scope, support customers through the quoting lifecycle, and drive continuous improvement in processes and tools. This position is located onsite at the Lufkin Gears business, which delivers high-performance gearbox solutions and repair services supporting customer reliability and efficiency across critical industrial applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma / GED
• High degree of experience in Microsoft Office platforms including Excel
• Ability to utilize internally developed systems (New Order Workflow, Deal Machine)
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret mechanical systems, parts lists, and technical drawings
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Current work authorization in the country of employment

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience in Oracle
• Experience in industrial equipment, repair services, or technical quoting

Responsibilities

• Developing repair quotations (labor, material, services) using appropriate pricing methodology
• Managing RFQs and budgetary quotes, including identifying required parts and services based on customer inputs
• Reviewing engineering evaluations and validating repair scope, ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Coordinating across Sales, Engineering, and Operations to gather inputs and resolve gaps in technical scope
• Tracking and prioritizing active quotes to meet turnaround expectations and business priorities
• Validating lead times, scope inclusions, and proposal quality prior to release
• Providing support to Sales and engaging customers as needed for clarification and/or customer witness points
• Identifying and driving improvements in quoting processes, tools, and pricing consistency
• Maintaining on-site visibility in the repair shop to monitor progress and ensure alignment between quoted scope and repair execution timing
• Supporting with repair order entry, change order management, and spare parts quoting as volume dictates
