About The Position

Gulfstream is seeking a Maintenance Team Lead to coordinate aircraft component maintenance operations within their MRO environment. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities, assigning manpower, and ensuring all work meets FAA Repair Station requirements and corporate standards. The Lead will also review completed work, verify documentation, lead and coach technicians, support Lean initiatives, coordinate training, and collaborate across teams to resolve issues and improve operations. Additionally, the Lead will monitor workload, manpower, and parts availability to optimize productivity and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
FAA A&P license or ability to obtain a repairman certificate within 30 days of start
7 years of aircraft maintenance/aviation experience
Demonstrated leadership ability in a maintenance environment
Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance documentation and regulatory standards
Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical data
Proficiency with tools, test equipment, and maintenance systems/software
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
Working knowledge of shop math and specialized tooling
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Must be able to work any shift (Weekend Day Shift assignment)
Must have demonstrated leadership ability and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret all required. maintenance and regulatory docs.
Must demonstrate expertise in operating all tools, test equipment and/or material handling equipment relevant to the area or responsibility.
Must be able to operate specialized tooling.
Must process good understanding of shop math.
Must be proficient in use of commercial and proprietary software packages and apps.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience in either Landing Gear, Brakes, Wheels, Hydraulics, or Windows.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities to meet MRO production goals
Assign manpower and provide daily status updates to leadership
Ensure all work meets FAA Repair Station requirements and corporate standards
Review completed work and verify required documentation and compliance records
Lead, coach, and instruct technicians on proper procedures and best practices
Support Lean initiatives, 6S standards, and continuous improvement efforts
Coordinate training and maintain team qualifications and certifications
Collaborate across teams to resolve discrepancies and improve operations
Monitor workload, manpower, and parts availability to optimize productivity
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate all physical and regulatory requirements related to aircraft and/or aircraft component maintenance.
Reviews work performed and ensures completion of applicable forms and records necessary for compliance with Repair Station regulatory requirements and Corporate Standards.
Arranges technical training as required. and ensures applicable PQL qualifications are kept current for subordinates.
Provides input to performance appraisals to area management for review.
Applies 6S and Lean Initiatives to ensure shops are meeting production requirements, work areas remain clean, uncluttered, and safe.
Ensures all work performed by assigned team complies with all required. documentation including Component Maintenance Manuals, drawings, blueprints, Computerized Maintenance Procedures, and all other applicable required. documentation.
Support process improvement through lean initiatives and other tools to enhance efficiency, safety, and production.
Ensure assigned team maintains and uses all required. paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements.
Ensure assigned team complies with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations.
Identifies and resolves gaps within processes to ensure continuity of operations within the framework of repair station requirements.
Evaluates workload, actual and projected schedule, parts availability, current and estimated manpower to determine adjustments to manpower requirements; makes manpower change recommendations to management.
Establishes and fosters an environment of innovation and Lean thinking.
Uses and encourages use of Lean tools and techniques to improve safety and repair processes, increase efficiency, and realize cost savings.
