About The Position

The Repair & Lab Technician - Level 1 role is a contract-to-hire position focused on receiving, inspecting, and performing basic diagnostics and repairs on broken or damaged devices. This role involves assisting with device configuration, ensuring proper software and security installations, and utilizing Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools under supervision. Accurate documentation of repair activities and inventory management are key responsibilities. The technician will also support parts inventory organization, collaborate with team members, and perform additional tasks related to in-field device support. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for technical training or an Associate's Degree. 0-2 years of experience in a technical support or repair role is expected, with exposure to mobile devices or hardware repair being a plus. Required skills include basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, foundational knowledge of mobile devices, a strong willingness to learn, good organizational skills, dependability, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment under direct supervision. The position involves physical requirements such as sitting or standing for extended periods, continuous use of hands and arms, stooping, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 0–2 years of experience in a technical support, repair, or hardware‑related role
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification required
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Foundational knowledge of mobile devices and hardware components
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Dependable, self‑motivated, and receptive to coaching and feedback
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment under direct supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Applied Science (AA) in Electrical Technology or related technical field
  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • Enrollment in or completion of a technical training program, Associate’s Degree, or equivalent coursework
  • Exposure to mobile devices, consumer electronics, or basic hardware repair

Responsibilities

  • Receive, intake, and inspect broken or damaged devices; perform basic diagnostics to identify issues and apply corrective actions under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Assist with device configuration and preparation for product and service installations at client facilities, following step‑by‑step instructions from Technical Support and Infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure required software, applications, and security measures are properly installed and validated prior to device re‑deployment.
  • Utilize Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools under supervision to verify, clear, and prepare devices for reuse.
  • Accurately document device condition, repair activities, and parts usage using approved inventory management systems.
  • Support parts inventory organization and communicate shortages or needs to senior technicians or the Technical Support Manager.
  • Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional departments to support device testing, preparation, and issue resolution.
  • Perform additional tasks related to in‑field device support as assigned.
