About The Position

Lift & Transfer Specialists, Inc. is seeking a combination Repair and Installation Technician for their durable medical equipment devices to join their growing team. This full-time position (40 hours+ per week) involves providing great service to disabled clients, including veterans. The company is a leader in the industry and offers a rewarding career helping disabled individuals gain independence and freedom. Since 1997, they have specialized in the sales, installation, and servicing of Patient Lifts, Ceiling Track Systems, Pool Lifts, Ramps, Vertical Platform Lift Elevators, Stairlifts, Grab Bars, and other medical equipment for the handicap population. The role is based in Brentwood, Ca, and services clients from Fresno to Oregon, Reno, Central Valley, Sacramento, and the entire Bay Area. Excellent hands-on training is provided, and previous experience is a benefit. The average workday includes about 2 hours of driving and 6 hours of installation/repair work, with occasional overnight stays in paid hotels for out-of-town work. Ongoing training is required to maintain proficiency.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of construction and framing experience.
Understanding of low voltage electronic circuitry & troubleshooting.
Capable of working in attics to perform ceiling track installations and repairs.
Good sense of math calculations for accurate measurement, including metric measurements.
Ability to lift 75 pounds.
Must agree to and pass a background check.
Excellent communication skills.
Must have your own vehicle available for travel in case the company vehicle is needed elsewhere.
Safe driving record (must present a current DMV driving record).
Familiarity with Bay Area roads, common driving sense, and good professional driving manners.
Ability to use a multi-meter and all hand and power tools.
Must have your own set of basic hand tools.
Must be clean and drug-free (a drug test may be required).
High level of professionalism needed when working with the disabled and elderly.
Ability to navigate the internet and use a laptop with programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook and CRM programs.
Ability to research and use factory Tech Support Tools from various manufacturers.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in this field is a benefit.
General knowledge of medical conditions.
Experience working with elevators, ceiling track systems, or stairlifts.
Bilingual Spanish/English is a major plus.

Responsibilities

Work independently for repairs and prioritize tasks as needed.
Help with warehouse and shipment receiving and organization.
Communicate effectively with office staff and other installation team members.
Perform daily installation, troubleshooting, repair & general maintenance of various equipment including Surehands Ceiling Track Systems, Handicare and Bruno Stair Lifts, Mac's Lift Gate and Bruno Porch Lifts, and EZ Access Ramps.
Stay out of town in a hotel (paid for by the company) to perform work onsite when necessary.
