About The Position

The Repair Development Engineer is responsible for the development, qualification, and industrialization of repair and inspection technologies and for delivering program deliverables to repair facilities to enable new or updated processes. The role requires strong technical fundamentals, the ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams, and effective communication of cost/schedule progress and technical information to internal and external stakeholders. This position operates with some autonomy within established procedures, using technical judgment to resolve issues and partnering with more senior team members when problems extend beyond defined parameters. A hands-on, collaborative approach in repair shop environments is important for success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years repair/development engineering experience) + 4 years relevant experience.

  • Foundational understanding of mechanical design, analysis, GD&T principles, and repair of high-precision turbomachinery components

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical challenges with disciplined documentation, planning, and program management skills
  • Ability to independently organize, document, plan, and execute simultaneous projects while aligning to business priorities
  • Familiarity with and/or ability to leverage lean/continuous improvement operating models (Flight Deck exposure a plus)
  • Ability to work effectively at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and engine assembly
  • Program context: potential support of the F110 site and associated repair operations

Responsibilities

  • Develop repair and inspection technologies that enable new capability, improved producibility, or updated process requirements.
  • Qualify and industrialize new and updated repair/inspection processes, ensuring readiness for deployment into repair facilities.
  • Own and execute program deliverables required to transition processes into repair operations (documentation, implementation readiness, and stakeholder alignment).
  • Work across engineering, manufacturing, and engine assembly to ensure robust solutions that meet technical and operational needs.
  • Track and communicate schedule and cost progress; proactively identify risks and provide short- and long-term options aligned to customer and business needs.
  • Resolve issues requiring strong technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures; consult senior team members for issues outside defined parameters.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams; build alignment and accountability to deliver outcomes.
  • For customer-facing work, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between the customer and GE; explain technical information clearly in internal and external forums.
