Repair Design Engineer I - Aftermarket Sustainment Engineering (Onsite)
About The Position
This position is part of RTX's Engineering Development Program (EDP), which offers rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities. The role involves working within a multi-discipline Integrated Product Team (IPT) to establish repair design requirements, ensuring repairs are safe, durable, and meet OEM quality standards. Responsibilities include researching component operating environments and functionality, developing strategies to return damaged parts to service, and creating technical documents outlining engineering requirements for repairs. The engineer will also participate in repair prototyping and ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
- Experience with Computer Added Design software such as Unigraphics/NX, or equivalent 3D modeling software.
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
Responsibilities
- Establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet the quality requirements of the Original Engineering Manufactured (OEM) parts.
- Research operating environments and functionality of components, their interactions with mating parts, and develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service.
- Create technical documents that will provide engineering requirements for repairs, including a high-level sequence of operations forming the basis for manufacturing operation sheets.
- Participate in the prototyping of new repairs as needed.
- Ensure engineering tasks are accomplished on schedule and within budget to the prescribed work scope.
