About The Position

The Rental Turnaround Technician provides high-quality repair service on rental equipment to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner and ensure maximum value for work performed. The role supports Rental Operations by evaluating quick repairs, fluid top-offs, and daily inspections of rental equipment returning from customer jobsites. This is a safety-sensitive, non-exempt position requiring up to 20% travel. The job description may change as employer needs and job requirements change.

Requirements

• General knowledge of engines and electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and components.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software, and cranes and rigging equipment.
• Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform all assigned duties.
• High school diploma or GED, or one to three years of related experience and/or training.
• Must be at least 21 years old to be assigned and operate a field vehicle.
• Must be certified before operating a forklift and/or man lift.
• May be required to complete a DOT physical.
• May require MSHA certification.
• Flexibility to work various schedules, including shift work, required overtime, and on-call.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including routinely lifting up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Required travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat-rate times and rework metrics.
• Work safely and follow all Riggs safety policies and procedures.
• Accurately and promptly complete related paperwork and access databases needed for the job, including work orders, parts orders, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, and BMTS.
• Follow contamination-control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Remove and install parts; disassemble and assemble components; and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Complete all assigned training in a timely and proficient manner.
• Support the Rental Operations process by evaluating needed quick repairs, fluid top-offs, and daily inspections of rental equipment returning from customer jobsites.
• Provide accurate information to management for quoting.
