About The Position

The Ryder Rental Management Trainee program is an 18–24 month accelerated career development experience designed to build the next generation of Ryder leaders. This program is fast-paced and touches every aspect of the business unit. You’ll receive hands-on training across Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Sales & Marketing — gaining the full toolkit you need to step into a leadership role with confidence. Over 18–24 months, you’ll build expertise across every core area of the business, including Finance (understanding P&L drivers), Operations (managing rental assets, vehicle PM standards, and day-to-day location performance), Sales & Marketing (driving revenue through inbound sales, outbound solicitation, and lead generation), Human Resources (building, developing, and leading a team), Customer Relationship Management (resolving customer concerns and growing a loyal customer base), and Compliance & Regulatory (ensuring alignment with company, local, state, and federal requirements).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required business administration or similar related degree
• One (1) year or more customer service with issues resolution experience preferred
• Must be computer literate – intermediate required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• High energy, self-motivated, self-directed person who is able to focus on multiple projects and activities simultaneously and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Detail oriented with strong follow-up practices
• Possess a high degree of common sense and the aptitude to learn quickly
• Ability to relocate in the region/US at the conclusion of the training program
• Must be computer literate – intermediate required

Responsibilities

• Handle the sales process for inbound calls as well as outbound solicitation
• Maintain current and accurate data within the company’s marketing database
• Responsible for generating rental, lease, and used vehicle sales leads
• Manage all rental asset processes to include Vehicle PM and cleanliness standards
• Meet overall Ryder market share by successfully executing sales and marketing initiatives
• Maintain compliance with company, local, state, federal, and other regulatory agencies
• Reconcile all customer concerns, issues, and disputes to maintain ongoing relationships and grow the current customer base
• On a voluntary basis as well as based on scheduling, the Rental Management Trainee will be required to perform the role of On-Call Representative based on work schedules as determined by Supervisor
• Performs other duties as assigned
