About The Position

Alta Equipment Group, the largest equipment dealer in North America, is seeking a full-time Rental Manager for their Orland Park, IL branch. This role is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the branch rental department. The Rental Manager will advise and make recommendations to the Rental Director regarding the best interests of the branch rental department. Requirements

  • Knowledgeable about the operation of a personal computer, Business system, & Microsoft Office
  • Minimum of 2 years’ rental department experience
  • Clear understanding of the Rental Department and all related activities
  • Excellent problem-solving, administration, and management skills

Responsibilities

  • Receive all incoming rental calls
  • Vet rental leads and work with assigned sales team members
  • Quote rentals using the internal rate sheet (verbal and written)
  • Set up new customers
  • Request credit applications
  • Request rental forms
  • Request customer's Certificate of Insurance and ensure proper coverage
  • Maintain current COI's on file for each rental contract
  • Explain and offer the RPP program
  • Process rental payments via Paytrace
  • Process all first-time rental payments upfront
  • Create Rental / Demo Contracts / Internal Contracts
  • Maintain 100% signed contracts and COI's in ERP
  • Utilize SignNow
  • Manage Rental Fleet
  • Utilize team's folder for approvals process
  • Perform equipment transfers
  • Work with the Transportation Coordinator for logistics needs
  • Create and utilize traffic forms
  • Utilize JCB Livelink for machine tracking
  • Audit equipment data for accuracy
  • Request the linking / de-linking of attachments
  • Maintain a profitable rental model
  • Request Rental Preparations and Rental Check-In's
  • Work with the service department to ensure rental units are maintained and ready for rental
  • Review all Service Work Orders billed internally to the rental department
  • Review E-Inspect for damage and work collectively with the service department to determine billable customer damage
  • Work with the Rental Manager to process all insurance claims
  • Bill miscellaneous charges due upon rental return
  • Manage Rental Receivables
  • Follow company COD policy
  • Review weekly provided reports for past due accounts
  • Issue rental credits when necessary
  • Follow credit protocols via “Approvals” in teams
  • Process payments via Paytrace as needed for any department
  • Process Purchase Orders
  • Code trucking invoices
  • Code re-rental invoices
  • Create manual sales invoices as needed
  • Reporting (Utilizing PowerBI, Utilization, Repair & Maintenance, Freight Recovery)
  • Participate in weekly rental calls
  • Prepare for meeting topics throughout the week
  • Contribute to improvements in the rental department
