About The Position

The Rental Equipment Coordinator is responsible for managing the demand plans and deployment schedules for rental equipment, ensuring all safety procedures are followed, and maintaining accurate records of equipment. This role involves continuous monitoring of equipment utilization, coordinating returns, managing rental expenses and budgets, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The coordinator will work closely with various departments and external stakeholders to ensure efficient equipment management and provide regular reports on equipment status and financial performance. The position also involves developing and improving rental equipment procedures and tracking tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and report preparation.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in equipment rental, fleet coordination, logistics, maintenance planning, production, procurement, or project coordination preferred.
  • Experience with ERP, procurement, CMMS, or equipment-management systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, heavy manufacturing, construction, or another industrial environment preferred.
  • Korean Bilingual Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules, and regulations are followed and met.
  • Manage rental equipment demand plans and deployment schedules by vessel, project, and production process in coordination with Production.
  • Maintain a centralized record of equipment type, vendor, location, assigned project, responsible user, rental period, rate, and return date.
  • Continuously monitor equipment utilization, rental periods, current status, and scheduled return dates.
  • Confirm return dates in advance and follow up through completion to ensure equipment is returned and taken off rent on time.
  • Identify idle, duplicate, or underutilized rental equipment and coordinate its transfer, recovery, or return with the responsible departments.
  • Track and adjust equipment requirements as production schedules, field conditions, and usage periods change.
  • Manage rental expenses, budget utilization, remaining budget, and forecasted commitments by equipment and project.
  • Validate rental periods, rates, invoices, equipment deployment, and actual utilization to identify discrepancies and avoidable charges.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Procurement, Finance, subcontractors, vendors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reports on equipment demand, deployment, utilization, rental status, upcoming returns, budget performance, and cost savings.
  • Identify and document cost-saving opportunities in support of established rental-cost reduction goals.
  • Develop and continuously improve rental equipment procedures, tracking tools, controls, and reporting standards within Maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
