Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Heavy equipment, engine, or mechanic repair experience
  • 1+ years administrative/clerical experience
  • 1+ years customer service experience
  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc.
  • Lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more
  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Understanding of diagrams and schematics
  • Intermediate diagnostic aptitude
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Wynne, and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW
  • Basic knowledge of Windows/Internet

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a technical school with emphasis on diesel engine preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing incidental repairs
  • Removing and replacing repairable sub-assemblies
  • Evaluating damage to determine reusability in rebuild
  • Troubleshooting equipment
  • Performing high level diagnostic assessments
  • Learning and understanding the work order system and completing all associated documents and parts orders accurately and timely
  • Identifying parts for return timely
  • Working effectively with others in the shop and accepting technical advice
  • Communicating effectively with Shop Leads, Shop Coordinators and Managers regarding problems, repair nature, and status
  • Engaging in required safety practices and maintaining quality housekeeping in work area
  • Accomplishing work to Service Departments quality standards within allowed time
  • Reading and understanding manufacturers’ Operation and Maintenance Manuals and complying with their contents
  • Inspecting equipment and maintaining equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Understanding the operation, function, specifications, capabilities and controls of rental equipment
  • Inspecting machines returned from rental for customer damage and notifying supervisors
  • Adhering to manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls
  • Performing basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures with appropriate supervision
  • Assisting in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components
  • Attending training as requested
  • Assuming yard duties as needed, including loading/unloading equipment and cleaning returned rental equipment with a pressure washer
  • Working overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
  • Performing other duties as assigned by manager
