About The Position

Targray is seeking a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Trader/Originator to join its energy trading team at its Montreal headquarters. This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with experience in B2B sales, business development, commodity sales, commodity trading, energy trading, origination, environmental markets, renewable fuels, or other market-facing commercial roles. While direct RNG trading experience is not mandatory, the ideal candidate will possess strong commercial instincts, sound business judgment, and the ability to work independently, take ownership of opportunities, and achieve results with minimal daily supervision. The position involves contributing to the growth of Targray's RNG trading and origination activities by identifying new commercial prospects, cultivating relationships with clients, suppliers, and counterparties, managing a commercial pipeline, and supporting transaction execution within the rapidly expanding energy transition market. This is a full-time, in-office position based at Targray's Montreal headquarters, operating Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or Master’s in Finance/Economics is considered an asset.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales, business development, commodities, trading support, market analysis, energy markets, environmental markets, or another commercial role involving customer interaction, negotiation, and transaction execution.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to engage external stakeholders, build credibility, and move opportunities forward independently.
• Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market data, assess commercial opportunities, and support sound business decisions.
• Exposure to commodities, energy, logistics, environmental products, or other market-based industries is an asset. Experience in RNG is welcome, but not required. You will receive specific product and market training in the role.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, follow through on priorities, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-moving, market-facing environment.
• Must be based in Montreal or Canada.
• English fluency required due to regular interaction with stakeholders across North America and international markets. Fluency in French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Market Development: Identify and assess growth opportunities in RNG supply and demand, including production, transportation fuel applications, CNG/LNG, and other commercial opportunities across the RNG value chain.
• Business Development: Build, manage, and advance a commercial pipeline by developing relationships with customers, suppliers, counterparties, producers, and other market participants.
• Deal Support & Execution: Participate in commercial discussions, support negotiations, coordinate contract reviews, and manage follow-up with counterparties and customers throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Research & Analysis: Monitor pricing, supply/demand dynamics, regulatory developments, policy changes, and market trends to support commercial strategy, opportunity assessment, and trading decisions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with traders, origination, risk, legal, operations, and senior management to evaluate opportunities, structure transactions, and develop commercially sound solutions.
• Reporting: Prepare clear and actionable reports, market updates, presentations, and opportunity assessments related to market trends, regulatory updates, pricing developments, and emerging business opportunities.
