The Renewable Energy Project Manager supports The Nature Conservancy’s Oregon Climate and Renewable Energy Program by developing, managing, and implementing renewable energy demonstrations, tools, and partnerships across Oregon. The work advances responsible clean energy development through thoughtful planning, siting, and design, with the goal of identifying trade-offs, minimizing and mitigating impacts, and maximizing benefits for communities and landscapes. Demonstrations may include dual-use solar and agrivoltaics, as well as small-scale and utility-scale projects. The role develops project goals and success measures, plans, budgets, metrics, and schedules with input from stakeholders and team members. It manages multidisciplinary teams, project partners, contracts, budgets, and complex projects from concept through completion, and communicates progress and results to varied audiences. The position also collaborates with Tribal governments and Indigenous partners, agencies, nonprofit organizations, landowners, community groups, and renewable energy partners. Work may support other TNC regional and North America conservation priorities. The position reports to the Climate Program Director within TNC Oregon. Its primary geographic scope is Oregon, with collaboration across neighboring states and potential regional work. It is a hybrid role, with Portland or Bend preferred and other locations considered, and requires frequent travel (approximately 20%) to project sites and meetings. Work may involve variable weather, remote locations, difficult or hazardous terrain, and physically demanding circumstances.
