About The Position

VHB is seeking a Civil Engineer or Production Manager to join its Mid-Atlantic Energy Evolution Practice and help deliver utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar and battery energy storage systems. The role serves as a technical lead on complex civil site development challenges, applying thoughtful design, environmental stewardship, and coordinated permitting to develop practical, implementable solutions. The engineer works with engineers, planners, and environmental professionals to balance client objectives, community needs, and site-specific conditions, while supporting projects that advance a sustainable and resilient energy future. The position supports civil design and land development work from site investigation and analysis through design documentation and permitting. It includes developing plans, specifications, reports, and calculations; coordinating across disciplines; and providing technical guidance and quality oversight to junior staff. The role is available in Richmond, Williamsburg, or Virginia Beach, Virginia, and offers a flexible, hybrid work environment.
