This position is part of the West Fuels Value Chain – Renewable & Carbon Regulatory Assurance organization. The role involves evaluating and applying current and emerging renewable regulatory programs, assessing business impacts, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements. The Life Cycle Analyst is responsible for conducting life cycle analyses (LCA) for renewable transportation fuels across key compliance programs, including the EPA Renewable Fuel Standard, California Low Carbon Fuel Standard, and Oregon Clean Fuels Program, as well as future programs in which the company may participate. This role partners with internal stakeholders to gather, manage, and validate large datasets, and to accurately model the life cycles of fuels, facilities, and projects. In addition to core modeling responsibilities, the role supports the development and application of data automation tools and processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability of LCA workflows and reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of company operations, renewable fuel regulations, and the underlying data used in LCA models. The analyst will regularly engage with internal stakeholders across Commercial, Refining, and other organizations, as well as with regulatory agencies, to represent MPC’s operations and modeling approaches and to ensure accurate data and appropriate methodologies are applied.
