Rendering Engineer

Turtle Rock Studios is seeking a Rendering Engineer to join their core tech team. The role involves designing and building new rendering features in Unreal Engine 5, maintaining and improving cross-platform technologies, and ensuring optimal experiences for both creative teams and players. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an engine or rendering programmer, strong knowledge of modern C++ concepts, and expertise in math concepts and rendering algorithms. Collaboration, problem-solving, and time management skills are also essential for this role. Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 is preferred.

• Create new rendering features and extend existing features to meet project goals
• Investigate and resolve performance and stability issues in stock Unreal Engine and in-house solutions
• Troubleshoot cross-platform problems to optimize the use of consoles and modern PC hardware
• Collaborate with artists, designers, and other programmers
• Apply modern C++ concepts and techniques from C++11 onward
• Utilize strong knowledge of math concepts, including linear algebra and trigonometry, in high-performance computing settings
• Implement typical rendering algorithms such as shadowing and decals
• Use HLSL, Cg, or similar languages for rendering
• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and time management skills

• Minimum of 3 years as an engine or rendering programmer
• Experience with modern C++ concepts such as metaprogramming and techniques from C++11 onward
• Strong knowledge of math concepts including linear algebra and trigonometry as well as experience applying these concepts in high performance computing settings
• Knowledge of many typical rendering algorithms such as shadowing, decals, etc.
• Experience in HLSL, Cg, or similar.
• Desire to collaborate with artists, designers and other programmers
• Excellent problem solving and time management skills
• Experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5 (Preference)
• Experience with game development (Preference)
