About The Position

The Remount Welder/Fabricator is responsible for prepping and remounting of trucks/chassis, fabrication and welding repairs. This role also involves helping other departmental employees and adhering to the production schedule while maintaining a quality product. The position requires frequent interaction with a variety of significant internal and external customers and is an active member of the Life Line Emergency Vehicle Team.

Requirements

High school diploma or technical training in related field or equivalent experience
Self-starter with good work discipline

Nice To Haves

Previous mechanical and welding auto body experience and Life Line product knowledge a plus
TIF and MIG welding experience is a plus
Forklift operation and experience unloading of steel is a plus

Responsibilities

Must have mechanical aptitude to include power and/or air tools
Must have knowledge and hands on experience with welding processes
Must be able to run or have ability to learn to run welder, shear, break, grinders, iron worker, saws
Must be able to solve problems and make decisions
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
Ability to inspect finished products during manufacturing
Must be able to apply quality assurance techniques
Must meet or exceed cost reduction goals
Must have ability to understand manufacturing methods and techniques
Knowledgeable of Life Line product and materials needed for production
Work closely with Engineering staff
Must possess ability to meet deadlines
Work with and assist production personnel
Work closely with parts department on items needed
Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Must have good mathematical skills
Good communication skills; phone, email and in person
Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
