SAIC is seeking a Casual, Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) to join the Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Chicago ARTCC (ZAU) in Aurora, IL. This role supports air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The RPO simulates the actions and communication of pilots and remote ATC facilities within an air traffic control training simulator. This involves operating a simulated radar display and voice communication system, responding to student voice commands, inputting actions into the automated system, and communicating with students using proper ATC phraseology. The position requires the candidate to complete specific certifications, including a classroom test on airspace and procedures and a lab performance evaluation as a Remote Pilot Operator on all positions. The FAA is responsible for air traffic safety and professionalism, employing over 14,000 controllers who manage aircraft separation in the National Airspace System. To meet training needs, the FAA utilizes contractor-provided instructional services at various ATC facilities across the U.S. and its territories. SAIC, a mission integrator, provides these training and support services to prepare students for certification as air traffic controllers.
