About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmology Medical Receptionist for a fully remote position. Candidates must be based within the United States and be able to work 8am–5pm Eastern Time. Prior experience in an ophthalmology practice and strong knowledge of ophthalmology procedures and workflows are required. Experience using Modernizing Medicine EMR software is highly preferred. We are looking for individuals who can confidently handle front-desk and technical duties, understand the nuances of eye care, and work independently. For remote hires, a laptop and phone will be provided, requiring candidates to have reliable home internet and a quiet, distraction-free workspace with wired internet connectivity. This busy, multi-physician ophthalmology practice serves the greater Havertown and Media communities with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care and teamwork. Requirements

  • Ability to work 8am–5pm Eastern Time
  • Must be based within the United States
  • Prior experience in an ophthalmology practice
  • Strong knowledge of ophthalmology procedures and workflows
  • Reliable high-speed home internet service
  • Ability to set up a wired (Ethernet) connection for both phone and laptop
  • Dedicated, quiet workspace free from background noise or distractions
  • Must be self-disciplined, reliable, and responsible

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls in a professional, courteous manner
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the calendar efficiently
  • Address patient questions regarding services and procedures
  • Assist with billing inquiries and insurance verification
  • Show empathy and understanding when addressing patient needs and concerns
  • Work cooperatively with team members across various departments
  • Manage a high patient volume and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Embrace learning on the job, ask questions, and accept constructive feedback
