Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer service experience within the healthcare or medical field
  • Strong medical vocabulary and comfort with medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other administrative tools.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent data entry skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work remotely

Responsibilities

  • Conduct professional, courteous, and articulate interviews along with follow-up calls with applicants to gather necessary personal and medical information to meet or exceed standards.
  • Review documents, notes, and correspondence for additional or anecdotal information.
  • Accurately enter data related to applications into the Application Interview System (AIS) and Assistant Underwriting System (AURA) to ensure accurate processing and approval of all life insurance policy contracts.
  • Provide accurate, prompt, and professional service to all inquiries received by phone or in writing while maintaining departmental standards and time service standards.
  • Correspond effectively, using proper grammar and spelling, within the department, underwriting staff, vendors, and other departments to resolve problems, expedite business, and/or escalate for further handling.
  • Effectively communicate AppAssist policies, procedures, and guidelines to internal and external customers.
