About The Position

The Remittance Specialist has the responsibility of ensuring customer utility transactions are processed timely and accurately according to defined instructions. The ideal candidate is able to work as part of team and able to work in an environment where work volumes change constantly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent level of education
  • Minimum of two years customer care experience
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Experience of cash handling and customer service
  • Experience working with a 10 key adding device
  • A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Get Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Scan, print, file, sort, route, and retrieve incoming mailings
  • Operate machinery for mail extraction
  • Operate machinery that images bill stubs and checks
  • Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain machinery to function properly
  • Accurately apply customer payments using appropriate equipment/systems/software
  • Balance cash drawer daily; make bank deposits
  • Create reporting and balance with bank deposits from previous day to submit to accounting
  • Assist local offices with payment relates issues
  • Identify and resolve errors and misapplied payments
  • Complete daily queries and processes to ensure accurate and timely payment processing
  • Review daily bank statements, process bank adjustments, and returned payments on customer's accounts
  • Provide customer service/support in relation to payment issues and communications
  • Process Return Mail
  • Participate in task rotation with other team members
  • Work overtime including evenings and weekends when needed
  • Work closely as part of a team to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks

  • Work in an environment where work volumes change constantly
