Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in environmental engineering (or related field)
  • 10+ years of related work experience, including experience as lead engineer of environmental remediation design projects with oversight of a group of lower-level engineers
  • Professional Engineer registration
  • Strong communication and writing
  • Demonstration of success in working in a team environment, being an excellent team player as well as a leader

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cost estimation for Feasibility Studies, Treatability Studies, and Remedial Design
  • Experience leading Feasibility Studies and Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of related environmental rules and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a full design and specifications package for a wide range of remedial actions.
  • Working knowledge of electrical requirements for typical remediation components including SCADA systems.
  • Lead remediation design projects, including: ex-situ pump and treat systems using granular activated carbon and ion exchange; in-situ injection for enhanced bioremediation, chemical oxidation, and chemical reduction; surface water diversion and gabion treatment; permeable reactive barrier; funnel and gate; interception trench; and vapor extraction.
  • Participating in multiple teams simultaneously working on varied projects pertaining to investigation and remediation.
  • Support the preparation of cost estimates for Feasibility Studies, Treatability Studies, and Remedial Design.
  • Assist with the drafting of technical proposals and project documents, such as work plans, UFP-QAPPs, monitoring reports, specifications, designs, and closure reports.
