About The Position

Magnum Services, founded in 2008, is a well cementing service company with a broad operational footprint in North America. We offer a unique blend of technical expertise and project execution excellence in primary and remedial (P&A) oilfield cementing services, downhole isolation technologies, soil stabilization, and fluid services. The Remedial Operator is a Class 1 driving role reporting to the Station Manager and under the direction of the Remedial Manager. This safety-sensitive position involves operating and caring for field equipment, performing shop maintenance, and supporting operational business, working closely with Greenhands and Bulk Drivers.

Requirements

Valid class 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, gripping, sitting/driving, walking, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
Able to be on call 24 hours on a 15 days on a 6 days off rotational schedule, remaining fit for duty at all times (subject to change due to market conditions).
Able to work in congested or confined areas, and with exposure to loud noises and vibration.
Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.

Nice To Haves

Experience in oil and gas field operations.
Experience with rig in and rig out procedures, mixing and pumping, pressure tests, plug drops, wash ups, final inspections, and clean up.
Experience with equipment and components, including pumping equipment.
Maintenance knowledge, mechanically inclined, and have the ability to troubleshoot.
Strong understanding of DOT regulations and required paperwork.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.

Responsibilities

Maintain, prepare, and operate a pumper for each job.
Operate the pumper to perform on-site rig in (assemble) and rig out (disassemble) procedures, including mixing, pumping, pressure tests, plug drops, wash ups, final inspections, and assist with location clean up.
Develop and apply an understanding of all gauges in the operator panel.
Monitor pump pressure, rates, densities, and volume during pumping performance; observe and report if anyone is needed in the hot zone.
Inspect and perform function tests before equipment leaves the yard, ensuring all components are in working order.
Maintain up-to-date documentation on equipment maintenance and repairs (i.e. 300-hour maintenance, greasing unit and iron treating), and submit paperwork before shift end.
Perform shop maintenance on field equipment when required, including pumper spring maintenance and fluid end inspections.
Rebuild Chiksans and Neutron valves.
Assist the Supervisor in job preparations and incident reporting.
Adhere to and enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with HSE legislation.
Develop and maintain strong external/internal client relationships in support of company values and objectives.
Establish and maintain procedures to ensure a high level of service.
Drive well servicing equipment with a trailer (pup unit) to and from well sites, as required.
Mentor Operator 1’s in obtaining their class 1 (Canada) / CDL (U.S.) license.
Participate in training and development activities.
Other general duties as required.
