About The Position

This position will be posted until filled. About the role: The Remarketing Solutions Specialist II professionally represents the sale of retail and lease vehicles at auctions nationwide and strives to achieve the highest recovery on the liquidation of assets in order to minimize losses, while ensuring company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws, are followed. Additionally, this team member will review, monitor, and direct departmental activity.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal laws/guidelines, with an emphasis on laws relating to repossession and remarketing of vehicles.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Automobile Industry required.
  • Advanced computer knowledge with the ability to utilize the Internet while valuing vehicles and scheduling vehicles for sale.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and utilize time wisely.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and exercise discretion when accepting/rejecting bids.
  • Basic mathematical skills to estimate the dollar value of the vehicles during the auction.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to professionally represent GM Financial and maintain working relationships with vendors/auction personnel.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, subordinates, vendor personnel, and management.
  • Must provide a demonstrated history of working in an unsupervised environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Remarketing Field Representative or in a compatible field with full knowledge of wholesale vehicle values/reconditioning needs required.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years in an automotive finance environment preferred.
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Automobile/Auction Industry AND in a Travel Representative role responsible for the representation of inventory preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring new GM Financial programs; revise existing programs to enhance auto recoveries at auction and ensure integrity of programs.
  • Promote dealer consignment program by building effective dealer relationships and performing external sale calls.
  • Meet the corporate defined sales objective monthly on retail and lease vehicles.
  • Maximize the recovery of all remarketed vehicles to decrease net credit loss as a percentage of account balance.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to perform pre/post sale activities including: Monitor flow of vehicles to auction; represent vehicles during sale at auction.
  • Inspect inventory, make recommendations on reconditioning, set vehicle floor prices, review condition reports, and audit auction expenses.
  • Manage GM Financial vehicle inventory for potential insurance claims.
  • Verify vehicle announcements and reports are accurate for pre-sale.
  • Work with auction coordinators to approve work orders for Mechanical Services Shop, Body Shop and Detail Shop.
  • Verify repairs are completed and charges submitted.
  • Assure inventory is in proper designated areas of the lot at all times; conduct a physical inventory on a quarterly basis.
  • Make recommendations of vehicles to be sold online after a no-sale.
  • Perform post sales score cards for auction performance.
  • Assist management in reducing operating expenses for the transportation and sale of remarketed vehicles.
  • Ensure process control over Remarketing Solutions to maximize Black Book recovery.
  • Dispose of remarketed vehicles in an expedient manner to reduce average days in inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and Company directives.
  • Addresses customer service issues in the field by managing customer expectations and coordinating with sales team.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with outside vendors using clear and concise communication.
  • Work with inside sales representatives to keep account and auction activities up-to-date.
  • Ensure effective communication, both verbal and written, with the AVP in all areas of the department.
  • Make recommendations to internal Marketing Communication Departments to initiate creative marketing programs for GM Financial programs.
  • Work with Marketing Department to provide key insights into communication and advertising planning.
  • Monitor and identify market trends and competitor activities.
  • Perform management of auction site Distribution Center as required.
  • Working effectively within an AI enabled environment: Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work. Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias. Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights. Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation. Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection.
