About The Position
Vetco Total Care Hospital is seeking a Relief Veterinarian to join their team. This is a contract position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work independently. The role involves providing preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. The hospital utilizes an appointment-based model to manage patient flow and has trained staff to support operations. Relief veterinarians will partner with the area medical director to review case comfort levels. Hospitals are equipped with modern technology including digital patient records, surgical suites, handheld ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, AI-powered radiograph interpretation, and on-site labs. The position does not involve overnights or emergency on-call duties.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
- Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions
- DEA in good standing
- Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
- Compliance with all local state and federal mandates
Responsibilities
- Provide preventive care for pets.
- Conduct diagnostic workups.
- Perform outpatient surgeries.
- Perform dental procedures.
- Partner with the area medical director to review the comfort level of cases before shifts.
