Relief Veterinarian
About The Position
Skeet Club Veterinary Hospital is seeking relief veterinarians to support our small animal team in High Point. We welcome doctors who enjoy general practice, communicate well with clients and staff, and stay calm when a same-day case needs attention. The Relief Role involves seeing dogs and cats for preventive care, sick visits, and selected urgent cases, with appointments generally lasting 30 minutes. Common caseloads include ear and skin concerns, with work-ins such as gastrointestinal illness, limping, wounds, and abscesses. Routine surgical coverage can be discussed based on experience and shift needs, while advanced procedures are handled by a visiting specialist or referred. The hospital maintains an approximate support staff to doctor ratio of 2:1 and is equipped with digital radiography and dental radiography, ultrasound, an in-house IDEXX laboratory, and an endoscope. The team values clear communication, sound medical judgment, and respectful collaboration.
Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree
- Valid North Carolina veterinary license
- Ability to manage small animal appointments independently
- Strong client communication
- Collaborative approach with the hospital team
