Vetco, a division of Petco, is seeking independent veterinary contractors to provide relief veterinarian services. Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing.
- Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions, including the ability to perform blood draws and administer vaccines.
- Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy.
- DEA in good standing preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with digital patient records, surgical suites, Butterfly IQ+ handheld ultrasound imaging, digital and dental X-ray, Vetology Radiograph Interpretation AI, and on-site labs (for Total Care Hospital shifts).
Responsibilities
- Provide relief veterinarian services at Vetco Vaccination Clinics and/or Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
- Perform wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations, and administer medications.
- Conduct heartworm testing and microchip insertion at clinics.
- For Total Care Hospitals: Perform preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures.
- Partner with the area medical director to review case comfort levels for Total Care Hospital shifts.
- Deliver the best care and patient experience possible.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal mandates.
