About The Position

Vetco, a division of Petco, is seeking independent veterinary contractors to provide relief services. The role involves working at either Vetco Vaccination Clinics, which offer wellness exams, vaccinations, and preventive medications, or Vetco Total Care Hospitals, which handle preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Both models utilize an appointment-based system to manage patient flow and ensure timely departures.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing
Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions including the ability to perform blood draws & administer vaccines
Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy
Compliance with all local state and federal mandates

DEA in good standing preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts

Responsibilities

Provide wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations, and medications at Vetco Vaccination Clinics.
Perform heartworm testing and microchip insertion at Vetco Vaccination Clinics.
Conduct preventive care and diagnostic workups at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
Perform outpatient surgeries and dental procedures at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
Partner with the area medical director to review case comfort levels before shifts at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
Deliver the best care and patient experience possible.
Focus on patient care while staff manages operations.
