About The Position

Lion Country Safari is seeking a Relief Veterinarian that will provide assistance to the Veterinarians and Veterinary Technician(s) in providing health care to the entire animal collection. This assistance includes record keeping, lab work, maintaining equipment, preparing medications, and cleaning as required. The Relief Veterinarian may also perform surgical procedures as well as animal capture as per written protocol.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
• Certified and licensed to practice in the State of Florida, or have the ability to be certified within one year.
• Computer experience with software used in the zoological profession is considered an asset.
• General office productivity systems, word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail.
• Mature, open minded individual.
• Capable of working in a team situation.
• Capable of chairing meetings.
• Comfortable dealing with the media and representatives of government agencies.
• Skills in letter and report writing.

Nice To Haves

• Two years paid experience in exotic animal medicine.
