About The Position

The Relief Route Sales Driver for the Distribution Department in all branches, except Newport News, is responsible for covering open positions/shifts within their assigned branch and training newly hired associates. Open positions may include Route Sales Drivers and/or Shipping and Receiving Associates who have scheduled or unscheduled time off and positions/shifts open due to resignation, termination and/or newly created positions. Maola Local Dairies™ is a farmer-owned cooperative sustainably producing a full suite of nutritious dairy products. Maola processes milk, cream, butter, and dry milk powders through our network of six dairy processing plants. With a keen eye on quality, freshness, and love for the environment, Maola delivers dairy products that are both nutritious and sustainable to our local communities.

Requirements

Possess a Class A or Class B CDL
High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or International Education Equivalent
Ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and physical abilities test
Must be organized, detailed oriented, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be 21 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

Customer Service or Sales Experience is a plus
Direct Store Delivery experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Provides on-the-job training for all new Route Sales Drivers and Shipping and Receiving Associates in all aspects of the job.
Sets an example for other team members by their appearance, punctuality, leadership and attitude towards the company and customers.
Maintains a high level of familiarity with all routes, customers and warehouse protocols.
Stays informed of all programs, policies and product changes regarding routes and communications with staff.
Fulfills departmental requirements in providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personal illness, vacation, or personal leave.
Assist in other areas as needed.
