Relief Pharmacist - Full Time

About The Position

The Relief Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with a focus on advancing patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist safely and accurately fills prescriptions, provides and oversees clinical services such as immunizations where allowed, and supports pharmacy operations when the pharmacist in charge is absent. The role also involves guiding, mentoring, and motivating pharmacy technicians and maintaining positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership. The pharmacist must understand and follow Meijer policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal laws.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
CPR certification.
Retail or community pharmacy practice experience.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results appropriately and effectively.
Help expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform at their highest level.
Apply knowledge of Meijer policies and procedures and state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
Be responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
