About The Position

Relief Occupational Therapists at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford provide occupational therapy interventions for patients from infancy through adulthood whose daily-living abilities are affected by illness, injury, psychosocial disabilities, aging, or developmental deficits. Under the guidance of Rehab Management, the therapist manages clinical aspects of patient care, including evaluation, treatment planning, and progression. The role includes supporting functional capacity through age-appropriate self-care, fine motor, adaptive behavior, coping, sensory processing and self-regulation skills, as well as feeding and swallowing evaluation and treatment. Therapists use standardized assessment tools, evaluate functional mobility and equipment needs, train patients and caregivers, and support hospital discharge planning.
