The Relief Occupational Therapist (OT) provides services to develop, enhance, or restore the functional capacity of patients whose abilities to cope with daily living tasks are threatened or impaired by physical illness or injury, psychosocial disabilities, the aging process, or developmental deficits. This role involves assessing and providing treatment in consultation with the patient, family, and other appropriate persons. The Occupational Therapist II is an experienced therapist, fully competent in all essential functions of an Occupational Therapist I, with additional expertise in evaluating and developing treatment plans for more complex patients across a wide variety of ages and diagnoses. This position requires utilizing advanced skills and techniques for accurate and efficient patient care, active participation in multi-disciplinary care team discussions, and recommending appropriate treatment plans. The Therapist II also serves as a clinical advisor and mentor to less experienced therapists, consulting on complex clinical presentations, reviewing treatment plans, and collaborating on complex Occupational Therapy care plans. Responsibilities include supervising Occupational Therapy interns, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and Rehabilitation Aides, functioning as a Clinical Instructor in the Occupational Therapy student program, and contributing to program development, performance improvement, and departmental policies and procedures.
