About The Position

This position is for a Relief Labor & Delivery/Mother Baby Registered Nurse. The nurse will coordinate total patient nursing care, participate in patient and family teaching, and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. This role will work within the Labor & Delivery/Mother Baby work zones.

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered R.N. license to practice in the State of Michigan.
• Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a minimum of two years of college level training in nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Analytical ability to assess and evaluate patient's condition and utilize the nursing process.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to almost constantly communicate with patients, families, medical personnel and other members of the health care team.
• Ability to work cooperatively within the framework of the nursing team.
• Ability to perform effectively and efficiently under pressure and stressful critical situations.
• Ability to operate a computer.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• NRP and ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) within 1 year of hire.
