About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow its team with a Relief Fryer/Peeler Operator for their new Weekend Day Shift in Hanover, PA. This role involves removing waste from conveyor belts, trimming potatoes, and operating the potato chip fryer in relief of the regular operator. The position works Friday-Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge of production flow, operating procedures, and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Constant attention to flow of potatoes to avoid slowing production.
  • Able to work in a warm to hot work environment.
  • Able to pay great attention to detail.
  • Requires own reliable transportation to the worksite.
  • Requires commitment to the 3 day- 12 hour work schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Some knowledge of machinery is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects peeled potatoes and trims defects to control quality of raw potato input to fryer.
  • Operates potato chip fryer in relief of regular operator, including preparation for start-up and shut down.
  • Carries out all necessary daily and weekly sanitation procedures for either peeler or frying area.
  • Changes and sets blades.
  • Performs all necessary duties to prepare peeler/slicer or frying system for production start-up.
  • Operates peeler/slicer system to maintain sufficient supply of properly peeled and sliced raw potatoes for fryer operation.
  • Reports all quality or mechanical problems to the supervisor.
  • Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
