About The Position

THIS ISN’T JUST A JOB. IT’S A CALLING. If you became a social worker to make a real difference—to step into difficult situations, support families in crisis, and help children find stability—this role was built for you. At Spectrum, we’re looking for compassionate, driven professionals who are ready to show up where they’re needed most. As a Relief Family Support Worker, you won’t be confined to just one program—you’ll be a critical part of multiple service lines, ensuring that no family goes without support when it matters most. WHAT YOU’LL DO (AND WHY IT MATTERS) You’ll step into a true case manager role, working directly with children, youth, and families navigating complex challenges. Your work will span multiple MDHHS-funded programs—giving you broad experience and the opportunity to impact lives in a meaningful way. In this role, you will: Carry a diverse caseload across programs like family preservation, parenting time, and juvenile justice services Provide hands-on support through home visits, community-based services, and supervised parenting time Guide families toward stability through coaching, skill-building, and connection to resources Ensure continuity of care, stepping in when families need support most Partner with courts, schools, and MDHHS, advocating for your clients every step of the way Document and track progress, helping measure outcomes and drive positive change Every interaction is an opportunity—to stabilize a home, to support a parent, to change a child’s trajectory. WHO YOU ARE You’re more than qualified—you’re committed. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field You have experience working with at-risk youth and families You’re adaptable, resilient, and comfortable managing multiple cases and priorities You can build trust quickly while maintaining professional boundaries You’re just as comfortable in the field as you are documenting your work You believe in meeting families where they are—without judgment WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT This isn’t a single-program position. It’s an opportunity to: Expand your clinical and case management skills across multiple service models Gain exposure to court-involved, prevention, and family support services Be part of a team that values flexibility, collaboration, and mission-driven work Make a broader impact by serving families across different systems—not just one No two days are the same—and that’s exactly the point. THE IMPACT YOU’LL HAVE This role is for professionals who want to be on the front lines of change—not behind a desk, not removed from the work, but actively walking alongside families as they rebuild, recover, and move forward. You will see the difference you make—in real time. READY TO ANSWER THE CALL? If you’re looking for work that challenges you, grows you, and truly matters—we’d love to meet you.
