Relief Emergency Veterinarian – 24/7 ER Only Hospital Location: Antioch, CA Position Type: LOCUM/RELIEF Hospital Type: 24/7 Emergency We are a fast-paced, fully equipped 24/7 ER hospital committed to delivering exceptional veterinary care in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Our facility features advanced diagnostics, modern treatment and ICU areas, and a comprehensive surgical suite, all designed to support top-quality emergency medicine. This role is ideal for veterinarians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy practicing high-quality emergency medicine with the support of strong technical staff. We work closely with our sister hospital, VCA Encina Veterinary Medical Specialists where we collaborate with other ER doctors and specialist. Key Responsibilities Provide urgent and emergency medical care to a diverse caseload Perform diagnostics, develop treatment plans, and communicate effectively with clients Collaborate with PDVM’s to ensure continuity of care Maintain accurate medical records and uphold the highest standards of patient care Assist with emergency surgeries and procedures as needed Qualifications DVM/VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school Active veterinary license in CA (or ability to obtain one) Previous emergency medicine experience Strong communication skills, compassion, and a commitment to excellent patient care Ability to adapt to a busy, fast-moving hospital environment Ideal Candidate Comfortable managing a variety of emergency cases Works well under pressure and enjoys problem-solving Thrives in a collaborative, supportive team setting Flexible, reliable, and ready to jump into a high-energy shift If you are a current associate, you need to apply through our internal career site. Requirements

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Active veterinary license in CA (or ability to obtain one)
  • Previous emergency medicine experience
  • Strong communication skills, compassion, and a commitment to excellent patient care
