About The Position

This person must have a Class A CDL without Automatic Transmission Restriction and be able to pass a DOT physical including a drug test. This person must have basic skills in math, reading and writing. Basic math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This person also will have a great amount of customer contact and therefore should have or be able to attain sales skills. The schedule involves a 2am-6am start with some Saturday deliveries. There is no overnight travel. The pay is $1200/week with overtime eligibility.

Requirements

Must have or be able to attain sales skills.
Must have a Class A commercial driver’s license
Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulations
Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen
Must possess good communication skills and customer service skills.
High school diploma or equivalent

Past route experience and a good driving record preferred

Responsibilities

Drives truck over established route to deliver and sell products or render services of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business.
Must follow all Department of Transportation regulations including E-log’s.
Makes change, and records transactions on customer receipt.
Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery record.
Listens to and resolves service complaints.
Be required to climb, crawl and walk in an upright as well as a bent position to facilitate the loading and unloading of product at destination, and collecting or picking up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
The route driver will have to stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually as well as drag stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds, throughout the shift.
Load and unload truck and carry merchandise.
Will be required to work in very hot (100°+) and very cool (less than 32°) environments throughout the year.
Will also be required to work outside most of the time regardless of the conditions.
The successful candidate must keep the inside of the truck clean, perform routine Inspections on truck and work and drive in a safe, courteous and efficient manner.
