This role involves providing quality food service, ensuring individuals receive high-quality, nutritious foods according to their dietary plan or prescribed diet. The position requires adherence to Alberta Health Standards Food Retail and Foodservices Code and Alberta Health Standards and Serving Safer Food Guide. The cook will strive to uphold a safe working environment, be health and safety conscious, and actively involved in maintaining and improving safety. Responsibilities include assisting with catering functions, liaising with the immediate supervisor for problem-solving, ensuring the surrounding area is kept clean and maintained, taking a proactive role in problem-solving, ensuring information is exchanged during shift changes, receiving and verifying delivery invoices, and labelling and rotating product.
