About The Position

Test Engineering Intern on the Reliability Testing team at Lunar Energy will be responsible for ensuring the validation of the product throughout the entire lifecycle of our revolutionary home energy products. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering in progress. Mechatronics or electrical engineering background preferred.
  • Highly curious with hands-on project experience.
  • Working knowledge of programming, Python and object oriented programming experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electronics/circuit analysis required

Nice To Haves

  • working knowledge of statics/mechanics of materials and heat and mass transfer is a plus.
  • Experience with test equipment like power supplies, multimeters, DAQs, various sensors/instrumentation…etc preferred.
  • Familiarity with testing embedded/IoT systems or wireless communications (Wifi/mesh networks/BLE) is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical design experience/familiarity with CAD software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and execute various types of testing as part of our hardware validation process.
  • Design and build test stands for PCBA testing
  • Thoughtful use of AI assistants and coding tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini…etc) in your engineering workflow - including good judgment about when outputs need verification, awareness of confidentiality practices and a strong vision on how to structure your test code
  • Specify test stand equipment and instrumentation
  • Work with technicians for designing and building test stands
  • Write Python scripts to enable test automation and process data coming out of the test
  • For test failures and field failures, aid failure analysis investigations and countermeasure validation with design team, reliability team and failure analysis lab
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and firmware engineers across the company to develop thoughtful test methodologies
  • Analyze test data, write test reports and help extract important takeaways from the data
  • Contribute to various test infrastructure improvement efforts (ranging from contributing new features and functions to the codebase, creating custom test equipment…etc)

  • The hourly range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is $25 - $40 USD
